The word we use most often between decision and indecision is “decision”. It makes sense, since we are making decisions every day from the moment we wake up until we go to sleep. From the smallest decisions like: “what am I going to have for breakfast?” to the biggest ones, such as those that politicians are taking to end a war.

What to say about indecision? Indecision is the difficulty in making decisions, either due to a fear of making a mistake, having too many options, a lack of information or personal insecurity. It can lead to anxiety and frustration, especially when it is prolonged and prevents us from moving forward. However, it can also be a sign that we value our choices and want to make them carefully. To overcome indecision, it is useful to set priorities, analyse risks without exaggerating them and accept that no decision is perfect. In the end, the important thing is not only to choose, but to learn from each choice and to move forward.

How many of us have fallen short due to indecision? How many of us have not given it the importance it deserves? How many of us are hiding in it? How many of us use it as a shield for defence? How many of us observe it and are aware of it? And you, where are you with your indecisions? Do you recognise them, or do you ignore them? In front of you is a bridge, are you going to pass to the other side of the river or are you going to continue the side you are on? Where is your strength? In decision or indecision? Are you aware?
